Our curriculum is personalised, progressive, and focused on global competencies.
JCSRS offers vocational learning opportunities in the secondary curriculum, focusing on independent living, communication, job skills, and career planning. Students also benefit from job coaching support.
The therapy team at JCSRS collaborates with teachers and support staff to empower students, providing direct and indirect services to address various areas of development.

๐ Sports Days: A Resounding Success
What an incredible two days of athleticism, teamwork, and fun!
More than medals, the Sports Day events taught vital life lessons. From Foundation students confidently navigating new environments to seniors showing grit in sprints, relays and field challenges, every moment reflected growth, sportsmanship, and cheers. The energy was infectious, and the determination on their faces was priceless. ๐

On Monday, we celebrated World Teachersโ Day early with gratitude and smiles! Thank you to all our incredible teachers and staff for the dedication, care, and heart you bring into the classroom every day. A special thank you to our PTA for the amazing refreshments and mooncakes that made everyone feel truly appreciated. โค๏ธ๐
As we look ahead to next weekโs Mid-Autumn Festival, we send our warmest wishes to all families and friends. May the celebrations be filled with joy, unity, and meaningful moments for every member of our community. ๐๐ฎ

Our little rock stars had a wonderful time exploring what they could hear with their ears during musical play. ๐ถ
They experimented with loud and quiet sounds through hands-on activities, and filled the room with giggles along the way! ๐

We are thrilled to unveil the next chapter in our journey to create the most supportive and effective learning environments for our students. Our newly renovated classrooms are more than just a fresh coat of paint โ they are a physical embodiment of our vision and values, put into action, one space at a time.
This transformation was a true community effort, designed with purpose:

Aligning with our curriculum and pedagogy โ every space is intentionally designed to support our unique teaching and learning approaches.

Incorporating your voice โ we listened to valuable feedback from both our incredible staff and students to create spaces that work for them.

Implementing the Autism ASPECTSS Design Index โ our designs are guided by this research-based framework, ensuring our architecture actively supports the learning styles of our students. Think acoustics, spatial sequencing, compartmentalisation, and more!
These new spaces are powerful tools that help us reduce barriers to learning and empower every student to thrive. This is what it means to be a forward-thinking special school.
We can't wait for our students to continue exploring, learning, and growing in these amazing new rooms!

Weโve watched you develop not just skills, but character. Whether in the classroom, on stage, or on the field, youโve shown what it means to persevere. Some of you have been here since Primary; others joined later, but youโve all left your mark. Your achievements speak for themselves.

During Carers Week, we honoured the amazing family helpers who support our students daily. Jade and Ruby classes served them refreshments while others made heartfelt thank-you cards โ small gestures for their huge impact.

The talented performers from Treasure Chest Theatre came to perform โJade Rabbitโ for students and families yesterday. The JCSRS PTA kindly sponsored this wonderful event, which allowed families to visit the school and enjoy a sensory-friendly theatre performance within the comfort of familiar surroundings.
Students loved the gentle music, interactive elements, physical storytelling, and the puppet meet-and-greet at the end! The show perfectly embodies our ethos of Total Communication, showing that we communicate many complex ideas and feelings without spoken words.
Massive shoutout to Natalie, JCSRS PE Educational Assistant, for being selected for the Hong Kong China Women's Select 15s squad, who will play in friendly matches against Germany and Belgium over the next two weeks. Wishing all the players the very best of luck!
