As part of the English Schools Foundation(ESF), our students are supported by the largest English-medium international school organisation in Hong Kong, providing them the resources and opportunities not found outside of ESF Schools.
JCSRS offers vocational learning opportunities in the secondary curriculum, focusing on independent living, communication, job skills, and career planning. Students also benefit from job coaching support.
The therapy team at JCSRS collaborates with teachers and support staff to empower students, providing direct and indirect services to address various areas of development.

I am doing well at Vocational Education. I go to different places for different jobs. I got to perform at the CNY show across different schools. They are giving me opportunities to attend Access to explore my artistic ability. I was also given the opportunity to go to football.

What's New at JCSRS?
October is Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Awareness Month, and at JCSRS, we’re celebrating the diverse ways our community communicates! 💬
Throughout the month, our staff and students are taking part in hands-on challenge days to explore communication using both high-tech and low-tech AAC devices, leading up to a school-wide AAC Assembly.
Join us this month in celebrating the different ways to connect💙📣
Happy World Teachers’ Day to our extraordinary educators! 🍎✨ Today, we celebrate the dedication, passion, and endless care you bring to our classrooms every single day.
From inspiring curiosity and guiding discovery to fostering an inclusive, welcoming environment for every student, your impact stretches far beyond the classroom walls. Thank you for shaping the future with patience, wisdom, and heart. 📚💡
Thank you to our wonderful PTA for the delicious treats today – your support sweetens our school community in every way! 🍿
Today on #InternationalDayOfSignLanguages, we’re celebrating the diverse ways our students connect and share their worlds.
In our classrooms, learning Makaton gives our children the tools to express their needs, feelings, and big personalities by combining signs, speech, and symbols together.
Mastering a new sign builds independence and ensures every child is understood on their own terms. Here’s to total inclusion, one sign at a time. 💙
At the heart of a great school year is a strong, connected community.
Thank you to all the parents who joined us for our Meet the Teacher session and PTA Annual General Meeting. Bringing everyone together gives us the chance to align on goals and share ideas. It also builds a supportive foundation for our students where everyone is Happy, everyone is Engaged, and everyone is Learning.
We are grateful for your time, dedication, and readiness to shape the year ahead alongside us. Here’s to a wonderful school year! 🍎📚

Yesterday, JCSRS held a staff meeting to celebrate the neuro-affirming approaches we value. We reflected on our 9 Benchmarks:
- Value the lived experience of neurodivergent people - Use neurodivergent affirming language - Respect bodily autonomy - Promote self-advocacy - Respect sensory needs (including stimming and ARFID) - Learn and teach through strengths and interests - Value neurodivergent communication - Presume competence - Adapt the environment, not the student
Staff received pin badges, kindly donated by Talos Foundation. The founders of this charity are JCSRS parents, and we are proud to support their work raising awareness of neurodivergence in the local Hong Kong community.
We are halfway through our week of celebrating and diving deep into the way we see our Neurodivergent students.
Today is all about "The Spiky Profile". In a traditional school, we often try to "round off" the spikes – trying to make a student "average" at everything. But in our world, those spikes are where the magic happens!
Think of our students like buildings. They have Superpowers (huge towers of talent), and they need Support Beams (help with the tricky bits).
If a student can name every stop on the Tuen Ma Line but struggles to hold a pencil, we don't take away the trains to force the writing. We use the trains to teach the writing!
Today's Neuroaffirming Nuance: We aren't "ignoring" weaknesses; we are accommodating them so the strengths can shine. If a student is a visual genius but struggles with verbal instructions, a simple picture schedule is the "support beam" that lets their "superpower" work.

To kick off Neurodiversity Celebration Week, we're starting with a simple shift in how we look at our amazing students.
Imagine our school is a garden. In a garden, you don't get mad at a cactus for being prickly or a fern for needing extra shade; you just change where you plant them and how much you water them! 🌵🌻
Today's Neuroaffirming Nuance: Instead of thinking, "How do I get this student to act 'normal'?", we're asking, "What kind of 'soil' does this brain need to grow today?"

JCSRS are galloping into the Year of the Horse with a wide variety of engaging experiences and performances. We wish everyone a wonderful, prosperous and healthy year ahead! 🐎
